GAMO TAKAMATSU STUDIO

クライアントは、美容師や美容室を総合的に支援する美容専門商社であり、全国各地でスタジオを展開している。
本計画は、その新拠点として香川県高松市に開設された多機能型の美容スタジオである。

スタジオは、美容師向けのセミナーやイベント、撮影といった多様な活動に対応する場として計画された。
空間の汎用性を高めるため、壁面4面をそれぞれ異なる仕上げ材で構成し、明確な正面性を排することで、多機能な用途に対応できないかと考えた。

既存躯体の状況から、空間全体のコアとしてスタジオを配し、その周囲に付属空間を分散させる構成とした。
さらに、道路側にはテラスのような半屋外空間を設け、自然光や外部環境音をコントロールしながら、スタジオに連続する補助空間としての利用を可能にしている。
この中間領域は、単なる緩衝帯にとどまらず、活動の幅を拡張する装置として機能する。

撮影スタジオという観点からも、異なる表情を持つ壁面は多彩な背景を提供し、視覚的な選択肢を広げる。

空間が「多機能」であるということは、用途に応じてその意味が変容し続けることである。
本プロジェクトはその「意味の変化」を考える重要なプロジェクトであった。

The client is a specialized trading company that provides comprehensive support for hairdressers and hair salons, operating studio facilities throughout Japan.
This project is a new multifunctional beauty studio established in Takamatsu, Kagawa, as part of the company’s expanding network.

The studio was conceived as a flexible environment accommodating seminars, events, and photo shoots for hair professionals. To increase spatial versatility, the four walls are each finished with different materials.
By eliminating a fixed frontal orientation, the space can adapt to a variety of uses and configurations.

Given the conditions of the existing structure, the main studio is organized as the core of the plan, with supporting spaces distributed around it. Along the street façade, a semi-outdoor terrace-like space is introduced, allowing natural light and ambient sound from the exterior to be moderated while functioning as an auxiliary zone connected to the studio. Rather than serving merely as a buffer, this intermediate domain acts as a device that expands the range of possible activities.

From the perspective of a photographic studio, the distinct material expressions of the four walls also provide a variety of backgrounds, offering diverse visual possibilities for image-making.

To describe a space as “multifunctional” is to acknowledge that its meaning continuously shifts according to use. This project explores architecture as a framework capable of accommodating such transformations of meaning.
